Hello travelers! Our Wandering Around series will temporarily be a Quarantine Throwback series. In today's post, I'm going to tell you all about my top 5 favorite places in Crete, a Greek Island that I got the chance to visit in September of 2017.
Olá viajantes! A nossa série "Wandering Around" vai-se temporariamente chamar "Throwback de Quarentena". No post de hoje, venho-vos falar do meu top 5 de sÃtios preferidos na ilha de Creta, que tive a oportunidade de conhecer em 2017.
Crete is the largest island in Greece and the fifth-largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. It’s located in the southern part of the Aegean Sea, separating it from the Libyan Sea, and honest opinion, it’s full of the most amazing Instagrammable places.
Creta é a maior ilha Grega e a quinta maior do mar mediterrâneo. Está localizada a sul do Mar Egeu, separando-o do Mar da LÃbia e, sendo-vos totalmente honesta, está repleta dos lugares mais incrÃveis e instagramáeveis.
1. Chania Harbor
First of all, the Old Venetian Harbor. Since my hotel was located in Chania, I’ve spent so much time taking pictures of the harbor - which, definitely, became my favorite place.
It was built by the Venetians and was used for commerce. Nowadays, it’s full of historical memories along with restaurants and tourist attractions.
You can have a really enjoyable walk around the harbor and, definitely, can’t miss the sunset. Add it to your bucket list right now!
Em primeiro lugar, o Porto Veneziano. Como o meu hotel ficavam em Chania, passei imenso tempo a fotografar o porto e foi sem dúvida o meu local preferido.
Foi construÃdo pelos venezianos e utilizado para comércio. Hoje em dia, está repleto de memórias históricas misturadas com restaurantes e atrações turÃsticas.
É um sÃtio super agradável para uma caminhada e, algo que não podem perder, é o pôr do sol. Adicionem já à vossa lista!
2. Elafonisi
The next place you can’t miss is Elafonisi. It is known by its pink sand, although nowadays, only remain around 10% of the color saturation levels. The sand was frequently taken as a souvenir by tourists so, if you visit Elafonisi, please respect the environment.
Outro sÃtio que não podem perder é a praia de Elafonisi. Conhecida pela sua areia cor de rosa, atualmente, apenas resta cerca de 10% da saturação. A areia era frequentemente trazida por turistas como souvenir, portanto, se visitarem Elafonisi, por favor respeitem o ambiente.
3. Falassarna
Another amazing beach is Falassarna and, when I was leaving Elafonisi to visit it, I got to see some goats in the mountains. Do you need another reason to add it to your list?
Outra praia incrÃvel é Falassarna e, quando estávamos a sair de Elafonisi para a visitar, vimos algumas cabras nas montanhas. Precisam de outro motivo para adicionar esta praia à vossa lista?
4. Stavros
Don’t worry if you can’t go to Elafonisi - since it may be a long ride and the streets are all around the mountains. Explore the beaches near you. For example, we went to Stavros beach by chance and we actually saw a lot of pink sand there! But again, please be respectful and preserve the environment.
Não se preocupem se não puderem ir a Elafonisi - visto que é uma longa viagem e a estrada é à volta da montanha. Explorem as praias perto de vocês. Por exemplo, fomos à praia de Stavros por acaso e acabamos por ver muito mais areia rosa por lá! Mas não se esqueçam de respeitar e preservar o ambiente.
5. Heraklion
Last but not least, a day trip you can't miss is to the capital of Crete, Heraklion. And my recommendation for culture lovers, visit the Minotaur’s labyrinth!
Por último mas não menos importante, não podem perder a oportunidade de passar um dia em Heraklion, a capital de Creta. Para os amantes de cultura, a minha recomendação é que visitem o labirinto do minotauro!
